Chapter 1
TITLE: Assessment of prudential guidelines on performance of SACCOs in Tharaka nithi county, Kenya (Major on capital adequacy and investment)
This is a proposal for my dissertation on the topic above. I need chapter one (Introduction) for now then i will order other chapters later. references must not be older than 5 years. Chapter one is around 10 pages that includes the following:
CHAPTER ONE
INTRODUCTION
1.1 Background of the Study
- Show understanding and genesis of the problem
- Talk about the global perspective followed by the local scenario.
- Talk about the target group in the study.
- Should be approximately 5 pages (4-6 pages)
1.2 Statement of the Problem
- Must indicate exactly what the problem is.
- Indicate why and how it is a problem. Give information to support this e.g. by use of statistics or evidence. This should be derived from background information to illustrate connectivity.
- Length – Maximum 2 pages.
1.3 Research Objectives
- One general objective that should be in line with the title.
- Specific objectives- have to be in line with the variables the candidates hypothesize to influence the phenomenon being investigated.
- Should be related to the general objective.
- Should not be questions in the questionnaire.
1.4 Research Questions
- They should be in line with the specific objectives, with each questions/hypothesis being derived from each objective.
- The researcher can use questions or hypothesis, but not both.
1.5 Justification of the Study
- Should illustrate why the researcher is conducting the research and whom it shall benefit.
- This is a kind of a disclaimer. It should cite the focus of the study geographical area or target group/ population.

NB: Remember that objectives must come from the variables of the study and the variables shall also be used to direct the literature review and coming up with conceptual framework.
Knowledge of writing dissertations is required and analyzing data using stata. By the end of the project, the writer will analyse data using stata and report the findings.
