Assignment 1: Your Child Development Chart: Early Childhood (2-6 Years Old)

As you have studied this week, the sheer number of developmental changes in all domains – biosocial, cognitive, and psychosocial – appears especially impressive during these years because they are so clearly observable. Whether it is the physical growth spurt that marks the time from the end of the toddler years to the beginning of the primary school years, the language explosion, or the noteworthy changes in emotion regulation and attachment, the years between 2 and 6 are quite remarkable.

This week, you will continue to construct your child development chart with a focus on children from 2-6 years of age. Keep in mind that, just as in Weeks 1 and 2, the developmental milestones in the chart this week mark only some of the major events in the biosocial, cognitive, and psychosocial developmental domains for this specific age bracket.
